Sheridan County is very fortunate to have citizens that volunteer their time, talent, ability and efforts to help with maintaining the functions of the county by participating on the various boards. Without the assistance of these boards, many needs of our citizens would not be met.

Please take a few minutes to view all of our boards and think about volunteering on one of these boards to help out your neighbors and have input in the decision making process.

Current Board Openings:Sheridan County Parks and Recreation Board

The Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners is now accepting applications for a Sheridan County Parks and Recreation Board positions. This is an unexpired term, running February 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025. Interested individuals may apply by completing a board application and submitting it with a cover letter no later than December 30, 2023 at 5:00 pm. Application and cover letter can be emailed to the County Commission, at or mailed/delivered to Board of County Commissioners, 224 S Main St., Suite B1, Sheridan, WY 82801.

The purpose of the Sheridan County Parks & Recreation Board is to establish, improve, develop, administer, operate, and maintain Sheridan County public parks and recreation system which provides participation opportunities for all Sheridan County citizens. This philosophy will be pursued in a professional manner and quality, always mindful of the public trust that this Board has been given.
