Are We a Democracy?

For decades, we've been told that America is a Democracy. The people telling us this are either ignorant, lazy, or devious. America is a Republic. When you recite the Pledge of Allegiance, you say "...and to the Republic for which it stands...." not the democracy.

Yet what is a Republic? At it's most basic, a Constitutional Republic, like our American system protects the minority from the tyranny of the majority. Here is a link to a video explanation.

The system created by our founders was brilliant, and we should strive to protect it. Keep in mind that, as stated by Ayn Rand, "the individual is the smallest minority." Do not be tempted to give in to the tyrannical majority. Keep fighting for your liberty.
