RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE RESTORATION OF STATUTORY RESPONSIBILITIES
TO THE COUNTY CLERK
WHEREAS, the duties ascribed to the Sheridan County Clerk are listed in Wyoming Statute 18-3-401 and 18-3-402.
WHEREAS, Wyoming Statute 18-3-107 (g) allows for County Commissioners to appoint an assistant or staff position, and that person “shall not perform any duties statutorily delegated to any other county elected official.”
WHEREAS, the Sheridan County Commissioner’s employed a County Administrator who
assumed many of the County Clerk’s statutory duties.
WHEREAS, the Sheridan County Clerk has taken legal action to regain her statutory duties from the County Commissioners.
THEREFORE, be it known that the Sheridan County Republican Party supports the Sheridan County Clerk in her efforts to regain control over her statutory duties.
