January 11 meeting video .
The Sheridan portion of the briefing starts here at 21:14.

City of Sheridan Councilmen Terry Weitzel has no problem speaking for Sheridan County BoCC Commissioner Lonnie Wright & the new Chairman Commissioner Nick Siddle. "I had a discussion with the two County Commissioners that were opposed to this at this time on Tuesday. They reassured me that in the future. They would be supportive of this." Weitzel

To the Commissioners Siddle and Wright:
Hold Fast.
The Citizenry of Sheridan County have your backs.
Reasons to decline the support.
-
Rapid growth of the City of Sheridan
-
Increases burden on public services.
-
May not be a current priority for citizens.
-
Competition for resources is already an issue for some.
-
-
-
Is water service expansion with no regard for existing customers actually supported by citizen?
-
Costly water service expansion detracts from needs of existing customers.
-
-
The whole project is shrouded in secrecy and misinformation.
-
So many questions.
-
Too few answers.
-
-
-
Don’t private developers usually pick up their own new infrastructure costs?
-
It seems clear that the Wyoming taxpayer is going to be funding infrastructure that benefits a private developer(s).
-
Don't developers usually pay their own infrastructure costs?
-
They calculate their development costs and eventual gains from sales accordingly.
-
Who will pay for the water treatment plants that will be needed for this plan?
-
Will that be Sheridan County citizens?
-
Wyoming citizens?
-
-
Who really benefits here?
-
Surely not the existing taxpayers.
-
-
-

Yet, bottom line, Sheridan is not for sale.

Important: So time is critical.
-
County might vote Monday (during Staff Meeting), or
-
County would vote at the next regular county commissioner's meeting.
-
SAWSJPB's next posted meeting is February 20, 2024, 5pm.

Audiences to reach out to:
-
Is the airport pipeline a priority for SAWS customers?
-
Story citizens: Does Rep. Crago speak for you accurately on this issue?
-
County Citizens is now the time?
-
The City can reapply next Sept.
-
Until then a public discussion on the priority of the airport waterline should happen first.
-
Furthermore is rapid expansion of the City of Sheridan. What citizens want?
-
Do citizens value development before maintenance?
-
Taxpayer funded development for housing than won't be attainable or affordable to most lower income families (false selling point of transmission main value to community) seems counter productive.
-
-
-
Developers/contractors (level playing field):
-
Why should "real developers" those that fund their development have to compete against "fake developers" who force taxpayers to carry the burden of development cost and risks while still claiming any generated profits?
-
