Obviously, the 2024 General Election is very, very important. We shouldn't have to say it, but you must vote and you must vote for Donald J. Trump for President. Failing to do so will reduce the popular vote and help the Democrats install cackling Kamala and wussy Walz as the country's leaders. Is that the American you want to live in? We don't. We enjoy our freedom, our firearms, a robust economy, our Wyoming coal mines, our cattle, and public access to public lands. Don't be part of throwing that all away so we can be a joyless, third world Socialistic country.
While our small population has a minimal impact on national elections, although we punch above our weight with three Electoral College votes, we can make a huge impact on our city, county, and state. This is where you need to really pay attention to who has your best interests. It is NOT a popularity contest. You are NOT voting for high school Prom Queen and King, but for people who can tax you, spend your money, and influence your children.
The Sheridan County Republican Party is charged with getting Platform Republicans elected to office. We can only do this if YOU vote for those Republican candidates who support the Wyoming Republican Platform.
Below is a list of candidates for various offices whom we, the Sheridan County Republican Party, endorse. Yes, we endorse candidates for "non-affiliated" contests, such as School Board Trustee. We do this because we do not believe your daughter should have to share a bathroom or locker room with a boy, nor should your children be subjected to pornographic reading materials in school libraries, classroom lessons on homosexual sex practices, or being taught that it is normal to chemically and surgically modify their bodies because they think they should be the opposite sex.
We also believe that the best government is one that governs least. Our local governments and school systems are awash in money, each with more than $20 million in reserve accounts, yet they want more, more, more of your money. This is not responsible government. You likely are struggling to pay your property tax bill, your insurance bill, and your grocery bill, yet your local governments dole out pay increases and waste money on legal bills and frivolous landscaping projects.
Change only happens if you are informed and participate. The fist step to participating is to vote wisely.
Sheridan County School Board Trustees

We list this first because our children come first. The school systems also make up the majority of your property taxes so you should take interest in how your money is being spent.

The SCGOP sent out questionnaires to all of the candidates running for school board trustee in District 1 (Big Horn & Tongue River), District 2 (Sheridan), and District 3 (Clearmont/Arvada). There are links below to the questionnaires we received back from candidates. If a candidate is not listed, that means they didn't respond.

We also created a committee made up of parents, retired teachers, and former board members who reviewed the responses from candidates and listened to them at a Public Forum we held. The Forum was structured so that each candidate would be asked three pre-set questions and then was opened up to questions from the audience. The committee then endorsed the candidates they felt were best aligned with the principles of the Republican Party platform.

Amendment A - Vote NO!

We are adamantly opposed to Amendment A and you should be too! The legislators who want to raise taxes are behind this Amendment. Currently, Residential and Commercial properties are assessed the same property tax rates. They want to split this up so they can pretend they are reducing your residence taxes while they make up for the reduction in tax monies by RAISING the Commercial property tax assessment. It's the classic bait and switch routine used by politicians for years.

What this means is that, while they "may" lower the taxes on your home, they will raise taxes on your business, your rental property, and possibly even your home if you operate a business from it. Business will have to charge more to pay the increase, rents will increase to cover the new tax rates, and everyone in Wyoming will be effected. Do you want to pay higher rents? We don't.

Do not fall for their shiny mailers that are lying to you! You do not "pay commercial rates," the commercial properties currently pay residential rates.

This Amendment will cause commercial rates to skyrocket. It is not real property tax reform. Allow the conservative legislators in the next session to implement real property tax reduction.
Ballot Proposition No. 1 - Vote NO!
Both Sheridan County and the City of Sheridan have had record tax revenues over the past four years. Yet they still want more of your money. Do they spend it wisely? We don't think so. The County hasn't been audited in over 14 years. They won't even release all of the details for bids and contracts on the $3.5 million Brooks Street Flowerpot. There is sufficient funding to operate and maintain both the City and County from the general tax base. Sheridan County is one of only ten counties in Wyoming with a 6% Sales Tax! Park County (Cody) thrives on 4%. Campbell County (Gillette) has done well with 5% for years. If this proposition is defeated, you will have a 1% price break on everything you buy in Sheridan County. Given the current economy, that sounds pretty good. Economically speaking, it should also help increase business revenue in Sheridan because there is less of a need to go out of town to save money. Republicans believe in lowering taxes.
